Abstract:

In this paper a new approach to contour recognition is proposed. This approach is based on fuzzy set application. In this method contours are identified according to two different principles: first is the nearest-distance principle and second is the maximum-membership principle. A membership function was established and several transforms like Walsh, Fourier, PWL, HPL were applied to get variances of the transform coefficients for contours to be recognised. The recognition results for different signal to noise ratio's SNR are shown.
