Abstract:

Nowadays images are present in many areas like social media or monitoring systems.
Because most often they have to be stored in databases, there appear two problems: effi-
cient querying and storage. Traditional methods of image retrieval from database are most
often not appropriate because it is very hard to describe the whole information contained in
an image by textual annotations. More efficient are algorithms which uses e.g. image statis-
tical features or semantic features as a query. Multimedia databases most often contain huge
amount of data, the traditional SQL-based databases may be not sufficient for this applica-
tion. Our proposition is to use Scalable Distributed Two-Layer Data Structures, which is
a distributed, efficient and scalable data store.
