In the paper the results of simulation and experimental investigation are presented of a frequency discriminator with two identical uniform Bragg gratings with suppressed sidelobes of the reflection spectrum. To obtain the discrimination of bipolar signals, the central wavelengths of the gratings differ by a half of their bandwidth. From the carried out results it follows, that the nonlinearity error of the conversion characteristic of the discriminator is not greater than 1%. The range of linear operation of the discriminator is limited not only by the bandwidth of the gratings, but also by the attenuation of the reflected beam on the way between the gratings.
