Abstract:

Many important problems that can be solved with the use of computers require significant amount of various resources. A multicomputer could meet this requirement. However such a system needs software and hardware support to work efficiently. Scalable Distributed Data Structure (SDDS) is an application for a multicomputer that allows for efficient management of data. In the paper it is shown that SDDS can be efficiently, implemented on operational level of the multicomputer Advantages and disadvantages of such an approach are discussed. The main contribution of this paper is an architecture of SDDS for Linux-based multicomputer and its implementation. Results of performance test for transactional database system which uses the implementation are given, too.
