Abstract:

The paper presents an application of self-organizing neural network with one-dimensional neighbourhood – which works as a component of intelligent Web browser – to finding groups of similar-content documents in WWW-document collection obtained as a query result. The operation of the proposed method has been illustrated, in details, by means of two-dimensional synthetic data set. This technique has been also tested with the use of multidimensional real-life WWW-document set (The 4 Universities) available at WWW server of the Carnegie Mellon University.
