Abstract:

In this paper contour data approximation methods are presented. The new approximation algorithm called the tangent method is also proposed. The tangent method, well-known Ramer procedure [1] and minimum mean square error algorithm - MMSE [2,3], are compared. Examples of application of the analysed algorithms for selected contours are also shown. Effectiveness of introduced compression schemes is considered.
