Abstract:

The paper deals with a nonlinear circuit, whose characteristics may be described analytically taking into account all higher harmonics. The circuit consists of a resistance, an inductance and a nonlinear load. The voltage of the nonlinear load is a rectangular symmetrical wave and has polarisation the same as load current. Equivalent linear circuits of the nonlinear element and the quasistatic characteristic in the circuit are developed. Distributions of active and reactive powers in the circuit are discussed.
