Abstract:

The paper deals with the evolution bases for the technology with considering essential stages and connections. An evolution of steelmaking processes was introduced on this background. Technical solutions of the arc furnaces permitting effective its exploitation were discussed. An aspects of sustainable development of electric steelmaking process by International Iron and Steel Institute and American Steel and Iron Institute were presented. Problems, barriers limiting application of the electric steelmaking process were determined. (Sustainable development aspects in electric steelmaking process evolution).
