Currently, only the definition of Budeanu and the algorithm of calculating this power, defined in IEEE 1459, are used in reactive power costs calculations. In practice, the most common circuit case is a sinusoidal, voltage supply source loaded with a nonlinear receiver. Such a case is considered at work. The analyzed circuit is supplied by a sinusoidal voltage source, containing only the inductance and nonlinear load connected in series. The load voltage is a symmetrical rectangular waveform with the polarization of the current flowing through the inductance. Parameters of all harmonic currents and voltages in the circuit were determined. On the basis of them, equivalent diagrams of nonlinear load and whole-circuit were determined. The active and reactive power values of the load and inductance were analyzed and compared for each definition of reactive power.
